Horizon Forbidden West is among the list of top contenders and long-awaited sequels, and the first looks of the game are unbelievable. First seen at the PS5 Future of Gaming event on June 12, it showed that developer Guerrilla is making the most of PS5 capabilities to build a superbly designed environment, and indicated that Aloy would be exploring completely new lands.
The trailer reveals a lot about the variety of adversaries that Aloy will face in the sequel. However, aside from the American context, so much is still unclear about the overall plot of the game. Below, though, is everything so far that relates to the sequel of the Horizon franchise.
Release Date of Horizon Forbidden West
Horizon Forbidden West’s expected launch date is 2021, and that is pretty much the only piece of information currently available. On February 28, 2017, three years after the PlayStation 4, Horizon Zero Dawn became available to fans. Although it is doubtful, the sequel will have the same void.
Horizon Forbidden West Storyline
Guerrilla posted a suggestively ambiguous description on Horizon Forbidden West in a blog post. According to Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy’s adventure progresses as she travels west to a deadly futuristic America where she will face against haw dropping machines and unknown new dangers.
The landmarks in the trailer depict a post-apocalyptic San Francisco, with greenery overtaken Golden Gate Bridge, and the Palace of Fine Arts tarnished under the depths of waters. Furthermore, Sylens still has an important role to play, and as she investigates the new realms, Aloy will encounter with other tribal groups.
Aloy marches towards the Forbidden West to unravel the origin of an odd crimson blight that kills plants, animals, and tribal groups, turning the weather into a continuous superstorm. She will come across new tribes and encounter tons of new machines as she seeks a method to alleviate the blight threats.
Game director Mathijs de Jonge reported that the Forbidden West itself extends from Utah to the Pacific coast, making it a significantly more extensive in-game map than Horizon Zero Dawn’s borders.
Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay
Although there is only one Horizon Forbidden West trailer to work with at the moment, there are plenty of things to disassemble. Initially, Aloy holds onto the Focus, a tiny Bluetooth ear device, which lets her search the environment around her. Also, she is riding a Charger, shadowing either she succeeded in crafting new spear to help her circumvent them, or mastered some new methods to hit the same objective.
There was a strong emphasis on exploring the depths of waters in the trailer, which most probably corresponds to the robot sharks. Other modern devices feature Shellsnappers, Sunwings, and Tremortusks, founded on tortoises, pterodactyls, and mammoths, respectively.
Horizon Forbidden West will be PS5 Exclusive
At the moment, you will need a PS5 to enjoy the beautiful world of Horizon Forbidden West upon its official release. It is important to note, though, that this year its previous incarnation, Horizon Zero Dawn, is receiving a PC release. Although it has been a long wait for PC players, there is no assurance that the Forbidden West of Horizon will pursue a similar route.
