It will be a clash of titans on 4th June as Cloud 9 will take on Counter Logic Gaming in the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) 2020 Summer Split. It will be quite interesting to see which side will come out the winner since Cloud 9 is currently on a seven-game win streak while CLG has produced some exciting performances this season.
It is quite surprising to see Cloud9 making such a dominating start to the season. It shows that the NA region is all set to make its mark in the competitive landscape at the same time, the LCS fans and teams have no interest in seeing a one-horse race.
The LCS Summer 2020 season will come to an end after five weeks, but it should be acknowledged that Cloud9 is a force to be reckoned with and is currently the best team in the league. The side has managed to see off Immortals, Team Liquid, Golden Guardians, Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves, and Fly Quest. Now they only need to beat Team SoloMid and Counter Logic Gaming to establish a record of defeating every single team in the LCS.
If you look at the recent game of Cloud9 vs Team Liquid, the two teams fought hard throughout the entire series. But in the end, the side led by Eric “Licorice” Ritchie showed why it is the best team right now with incredible macro play. Meanwhile against Immortals Cloud 9 needed just over 25 minutes to seal an 18-3 win.

Counter Logic Gaming
On paper, it seems like the current roster of Cloud9 is one of the best teams in the history of NA LCS. It might be true but, CLG is no pushover and is known to beat even the best teams on its day.
In these opening weeks of the LCS Summer 2020, Counter Logic Gaming was only beaten by Fly Quest and Evil Geniuses. Yet the side managed to win against Golden Guardians, 100 Thieves, Dignitas, and Immortals. These might not be the best teams but shows the consistency of CLG.
The jungler of the side Raymond “Wiggly” Griffin is making his mark this season with a great partnership with the top and mid-lane. Meanwhile, the bottom lane duo of Andy “Smoothie” Ta and Stixxay are confidently playing against some of the best oppositions in the league.
The reworked Volibear has proven to be a blessing in disguise for top laner Kim “Ruin” Hyeong-min as he is yet to lose a match on the champion. It will be exciting to see if Ruin can get his hand on the Thunder’s Roar against C9.
Prediction: Cloud9 1-0 Counter Logic Gaming
We know nobody’s perfect, yet we still believe that Cloud 9 will make it eight wins from the eight games played. Their aggressive style of play is yet to be matched in the NA region, and we don’t think CLG has what it takes to beat this titan of a team.
