Gen.G will take on DAMWON Gaming on 25th June in the Week 2 of the Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer Split. In this article, we will work out the winner between these two highly talented sides.

DAMWON Gaming

Despite their fair share of struggles in the Spring Split, DAMWON has made a phenomenal start to the Summer Season. They accomplished this feat by winning against SeolHaeOne Prince and SANDBOX Gaming. They come in the second week with a 100% win rate and accomodate over +470 gold differential per minute.

It is still a debate to whether or not applaud them for their wins against the weakest teams in the league. But we cannot deny that the team led by  Heo “ShowMaker” Su are all set to make a strong push for the title.

The first team of DAMWON is currently performing brilliantly, since support Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee,  jungler Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu, and mid laner ShowMaker are showing impressive statistics. The record for the highest KDA in the LCK Summer split is currently held by ShowMaker. Meanwhile, BeryL and Canyon occupy third and fourth spots.

DAMWON came out all guns blazing in their game against SeolHaePrince, as the side won the series in under 55 minutes. ShowMaker’s teams showed high quality as they got two barons, five drakes, 22 towers, and 43 kills. Meanwhile, on the other side,  SeolHaePrince only got two drakes, three towers, and just 22 kills. The shining stars of the team were Ghost, Canyon, and Showmaker, who achieved 6.3, 6.4, and 12.5 KDA.

Gen.G

While DAMWON Gaming was busy seeing of tier-two teams, Gen.G witnessed a problematic start to the new season. The team led by Kim “Clid” Tae-min lost their opening game to DragonX but managed to win against KT Rolster.

In these two games, the best performers of the team are mid-laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-Seong, ADC Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, jungler Clid, and surprisingly the player with the highest KDA is their support Kim “Kellin” Hyeong-Gyu.

Looking at their recent match against KT Rolster, it was good to see that Gen.G got its much needed first win of the season. The MVP of the series was Bdd, who managed an impressive 7.0 KDA, the second-best player was Kellin, who achieved 6.4 KDA in his first game of the season.

Prediction: Gen.G 2-1 DAMWON Gaming

In the Spring Split, Ge.G won every single series against DAMWON, but it doesn’t mean that they will confidently see off their rivals again in this upcoming game. We know that DAMWON has a lot to prove, the main reason behind this is the fact that the side has only played against weaker opponents.

We believe that Ghost needs to improve on his performance for his team to win the game. Meanwhile, ShowMaker and Nuguri will have to do what they do best, and that is dominating their lane.

It will be a close game, but we believe that Gen.G has what it takes to win the series.
