T1 will take on Afreeca Freecs in one of the most anticipated games of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2020 Summer Split. The match will take place on 26th June and will be contested in the best-of-three format. In this article, we will work out the winner between these two giants of the competition.
Afreeca Freecs are currently sitting at the top of the leaderboard alongside DragonX and DAMWON, with two wins from the two games played. They beat SANDBOX Gaming 2-0 and had to work hard against the newcomer’s Team Dynamics in a 2-1 win.
It is without any doubt that the Afreeca Freece have yet to show their worth, but we still cannot ignore the remarkable performances of Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun. The young ADC currently holds a 20.3 KDA which is the second-highest in the competition and has truly earned his spot. Despite not being the best farmers in the game, he has established a solid reputation for dealing high-damage in team fights. He also holds the second-highest kill participation percentage with 76% KPAR.
We should also appreciate the mid-laner Song “Fly” Yong-jun, jungler Lee “Spirit” Da-Yoon and top laner Kim “Kiin” Gi-in. The trio doesn’t hold any outstanding statistics as Mystic, yet they are currently the best player in their respective roles. We hope that each one of the remains consistent since it will take a lot more for Afreeca Freecs to earn their win against the current champions of the LCK in their upcoming game.
T1 had some problems in their opening matches of the LCK 2020 Summer. They lost to DragonX in the first match. But managed to get a very hard-earned win against Hanwha Life.
Before you go and judge T1 for their questionable performances, it should be kept in mind that T1 is currently playing their substitute support, Choi “Kuri” Won-Yeong in the first team. He had a very poor showing against Hanwha as he had a KDA or 1.3 with kills and seven deaths. In the third and last game of the series, T1 brought on Lee “Effort” Sang-ho to get their first win of the season.
T1 is not like Afreeca that depends on one player to do all the work for them. They hold an extremely talented roster. As their ADC Park “Teddy” Jin-Seong holds an impressive 5.1 KDA, the mid-laner Faker holding a 5.0 KDA and Top laner Kim “Canna” Chang-dong is averaging 7.0 KDA.
Prediction: T1 2-1 Afreeca Freecs
There is not a lot of difference between the two teams on papers. T1 has a much better farming strategy and vision control while Afreeca has a better command over in-game objective due to their aggressive playing style.
Afreeca Freecs might come into this game in better form, but they are yet to play against one of the best teams in the competition. We cannot say the same thing for T1 since they have competed against DragonX.
