The Week 4 of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League is all set to return on 9th July. The competition will kick off with the game between T1 vs Geek Fam. It will be interesting to see which team will come out on top since this is the fourth time the two teams will meet each other in 2020.
Geek Fan started the second half of the year with a bang as the side won the BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia in June. It was a shocking result since the competition included some of the best teams in the region. However that didn’t stop Geek to beat BOOM Esports and Fnatic to take the first spot in the tournament.
Geek Fam also competed at the Asia Summer Championship, but they failed to build on their BTS Pro Series performance. They finished the group stage at fourth place and competed in only two rounds of the lower bracket playoffs. They had to settle for a fourth place finish as the side lost to NEW Esports in the third round
Since that tournament, Geek have played a couple of games in the ONE Esports SEA Dota 2. They managed a draw against Reality Rift and after that beat NEW as a revenge for the defeat in the Summer Championship. Before these games, the side lost to Boom Esports and got another draw against Neon. Now with 2-2-1 record they sit at eight place.
TI comes in with a roller coaster 3-1-3 record. The side won against Reality Rift, BOOM, and Execration, got a draw against Adriot, and was defeated by Neon, Fnatic and NEW.
TI competed in the BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia yet they were eliminated from the tournament with disappointing results. They finished the group stage with three wins, three draws and three defeats. Then they crashed out of the tournament after losing the opening game of the lower bracket to TNC Predator. Since then the side has only competed in the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League.
You should know that both teams have not made any roster changes since June. The new roster of T1 has remained unchanged since its formation in May with then let go of Yixaun “xuan” Guo and Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier and replaced the duo with Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei and Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen. Meanwhile the last roster change of Geek Fam was back in January when they recruited Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon.
Prediction T1 vs Geek Fam – Geek Fam 2-0 T1
Geek Fam and T1 have met each other three times and in all of three three occasions Geek came out victorious. We are giving them the edge in this game not because of this history but because Geek is simply the better team and they can easily make 4-0 after this game. This is a much needed game since the Geek have found wins hard to come by in the league.
